I started this website as a place to put all of the tidbits of information that I have experienced in over 25 years in the IT industry. Much of this information comes from actual hands-on experience. I love to read and learn new things and then apply it to my client-base or work on my own. I look forward to completing this large project of putting years on information in a format that could benefit many others. I hope you enjoy "Inside PCs". |

Differences between RAM and Hard disk space. RAM is like a desk that you work at and hard disk space is like a file cabinet. There is a lot more space in the file cabinet than on your desk but you must retrieve a file from the filing cabinet and put it on your desk before you can work with it. In fact you can probably work with several files from the file cabinet at the same time but at some point you may have to put some of the files away before you work with any more otherwise you may have a hard time managing which files belong together. However at the end of the day you gather up and put all the files away for safe-keeping for the next time you want to use them. |
